Broker Bulletin: Broker Survey Deadline May 28
Reminder: Deposits Submitted Electronically
Important Dates Reminder

Broker Survey Deadline May 28

If you have already completed the survey, thank you for your participation, and you can disregard this section of the bulletin.

The Commission sent a broker bulletin on May 14 requesting brokers and managing associate brokers participate in a survey focusing on licensee communication, Commission website usage and improvements, new vs. old Salesperson Licensing Courses, and Broker CPE.

If you haven't completed the survey, we encourage you to please do so before the deadline on Wednesday, May 28 at 4pm. Your feedback is essential in helping the Commission improve education, resources, and communication for the real estate industry. Responses are confidential.

To complete the survey, click [the link is available to the email news bulletin sent only to brokers and managing associate brokers.]

Reminder: Deposits Submitted Electronically

Clause 1.1 of Form 400: Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS) states the buyer “submits” a deposit on or before a specified date, then goes on to state “if the deposit is not delivered as specified” the seller is at liberty to terminate.

In cases where deposits are submitted electronically (ie. wire transfers, EFTs, etc.) there may be a delay between when the deposit was sent and when the deposit arrives in the brokerages trust account, and these two events may overlap the deadline in the APS. If the buyer/buyer’s agent can produce bank confirmation that the transfer is in transit, that would comply with the language of the APS noted above.

If either buyer or seller are disputing that the deposit was not received on time, they are to be referred to their legal counsel.

Important Dates Reminder
June 15: Mandatory CPE Courses

Depending on your licence category, licensees must complete their required CPE course(s) on the NSAR Learning Platform before 11:59 pm on June 15, 2025.

All licence categories (salespeople, associate brokers, managing associate brokers and brokers) must complete Revisiting Consumer Relationships.

Associate brokers, managing associate brokers and brokers must also complete a second course: Broker Responsibilities Refresh.

June 30: Online Licensing Renewal Deadline

July 1: By-law and Forms Updates Effective
The Commission By-law will be updated to reflect the revised Parts 1—Definitions, 7—Conduct and Trade Practices and 8—Discipline. Numerous Commission forms will be revised, largely to coincide with the By-law updates.
