Brokerage Name is Required in All Advertising

Reminder to all licensees that your brokerage name must be displayed in all advertising, including, but not limited to physical signs, flyers, mailouts, websites and social media. The brokerage name must be the complete name exactly as it appears on the licence, clearly displayed and easily identifiable.

Per the By-law, the brokerage name or logo must be the same size or larger than any industry member name or team name or industry member logo or team logo in advertising.

Reminder of the upcoming important dates:

Board Election: April 22 - 24

The online election for a seat on the Commission’s Board of Directors opens on Monday, April 22 at 9am and closes on Wednesday, April 24 at 4pm. Licensees will receive an email from the domain bigpulse.com with the subject line: Cast your ballot in the 2024 NSREC Board of Directors Election. The three nominees in this year's election are:

  • Peter Fraser, salesperson, Viewpoint Realty
    Services Inc.
  • Ryan Hartlen, broker, RE/MAX Nova
  • Gary Mailman, salesperson, Exit Realty Inter Lake

Commission Annual General Meeting: April 25

The Commission’s AGM will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, April 25 at 10am. The notice for the meeting will be sent out at 8am the morning of the AGM and will include instructions to join the meeting as well as the agenda. To view the 2023 Annual Report, click HERE.

2024 CPE Deadline: June 15

If you have already completed the 2023-2024 CPE, you can disregard the rest of this email.

Licensees are required to complete the CPE, Discovering Property Facts, which is available online via the NSAR Learning Platform. The deadline is June 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. There are currently still 1,463 licensees who have not completed the course. 

All licensees who fail to complete their mandatory CPE before the deadline will have their licences terminate effective 12:00 a.m. on July 1, 2024. The course will be unavailable from June 16 - July 11. If you let your licence terminate, you must immediately cease all trading activities, including taking down signage, advertising, and social media. To have your licence reinstated after the deadline has passed, you must complete the course, apply to have your licence reinstated, pay the renewal fee, and be issued a licence, at which point you may resume trading activity.
