COVID-19 Update: March 22nd, 2022

The Commission is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation, and will make on-going reassessments of our policies based on recommendations and guidelines from Public Health. Any changes to our decisions will be communicated to the industry via news bulletins. For now, the Commission has the following updates to our COVID-19 policies:

The Commission has received reports of licensees representing buyer clients who will submit offers on multiple properties at the same time, knowing that the buyer does not intend to buy multiple properties.

Trust Fund Deposit Fraud Alert

The Commission was alerted to a deposit fraud that occurred yesterday—thankfully the funds were recovered. The bank that released the funds by EFT was able to retrieve them after the fraud was discovered and reported. The Commission is advising licensees to be vigilant and carefully scrutinize deposit instructions before sending them to buyers.

Call for 2022 Nominations for the Board of Directors

The Commission is accepting nominations for one licensee to join the Board of Directors. Licensees nominate themselves by completing and submitting the Nomination Form. The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 21st, 2022 at 4 p.m. A virtual election will be held in April. The successful candidate will be announced at the AGM on April 21st.
