The election for a position on the Commission's Board of Directors opened at 9am on Monday and closed at 4pm on Wednesday. Congratulations to Logan Morse, salesperson for Royal LePage Atlantic, for securing the most votes. This year’s election had 32.9 per cent of licensees casting ballots. In last year’s election, 34.2 per cent of licensees cast ballots. Thank you for voting!
The Commission’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, April 21st at 10am. The notice for the meeting will be sent out at 8am the morning of the AGM and will include instructions to join the meeting as well as the agenda. The government of Nova Scotia has created a page with more information on the Provincial Deed Transfer Tax and Property Tax for Non-residents of Nova Scotia as announced in the 2022-2023 budget. Government will release more information and required forms in the near future. Please check the link for updates.
The Board of Directors has agreed to make the Commission’s real estate forms accessible to consumers. These secure PDF versions of the forms are available for consumer information only, not for trading in real estate, therefore the forms, with the exception of service agreements, have watermarks. By being able to review the forms, consumers will benefit by being more informed about the process of buying/selling property. Unwatermarked versions of the forms are approved by the Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission for use by licensees under the Nova Scotia Real Estate Trading Act.
