Commission Office Closures

The office will be closed on Friday, December 20, 2024 for office maintenance. Staff will be working remotely.

The office will be fully closed for the holidays from Monday, December 23, 2024 until Thursday, January 2, 2025. If you have time-sensitive inquiries during the holiday closure, email the Registrar. Non time-sensitive inquiries can be directed to the appropriate staff member, who will respond when they resume work in the new year.

Annual General Meeting, CPE Deadline, Information Sheet from Dept. of Health, Health Directives

Annual General Meeting May 28th

The Commission’s annual general meeting (AGM) will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, May 28th, at 10am. The notice for the meeting will be sent out at 8am the morning of the AGM and will include instructions to join the meeting as well as the agenda. Our external auditor, Andrew Campbell of Andrew M. Campbell Inc., is unable to attend the meeting. If you have questions regarding the audited financial statements in the Annual Report, please send those questions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by noon on Tuesday. That way we can have Andrew provide written responses to be read at the AGM.

Radon Awareness for Real Estate CPE Deadline

Licensees have until June 15th to complete the online mandatory course, Radon Awareness for Real Estate, which is administered by the Lung Association. Any licensee that does not complete their course by June 15th will have their licence suspended until the course is completed and have to pay $200+HST to have their licence reinstated.

CERB Benefits

The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) is now in its second month. The CERB needs to be applied for monthly. You can apply or reapply through Service Canada or Canada Revenue Agency. Learn more about the CERB and apply/reapply HERE.

Election Results

The election for a position on the Commission Board of Directors opened at 9 a.m. on Monday and closed at 4 p.m. yesterday. Congratulations to Linda Smardon, broker of Exit Realty Metro, for securing the most votes. This year’s election had the highest turnout of elections to date with 49.3 per cent of licensees casting ballots. In last year’s election, 41.3 per cent of licensees cast ballots. Thank you for voting!
