This year, we have four candidates for election to our Board of Directors. Meet the candidates by reading their bios below:
Beginning in April, the Commission will be holding the licensing exams at the Best Western Hotel in Dartmouth. The Commission is working with the Best Western to ensure compliance with provincial guidelines and have safety measures in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19. Measures will include students maintaining six-feet social distancing, mandatory masks, and cleaning before and after exams.
The Commission has received questions about how "having viewed" on the first page of the Agreement of Purchase and Sale should be defined when considering virtual showings, which have increased as a result of COVID-19.
The Commission is accepting nominations for one licensee to join the Board of Directors. Licensees nominate themselves by completing and submitting the Nomination Form. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 19, 2021 at 4 p.m. A virtual election will be held in April. The successful candidate will be announced at the AGM on April 22nd.
Modified Trust Audits
In response to the pandemic restrictions, the NSREC’s Board of Directors adjusted the audit policy to conduct modified trust audits. Brokers who are scheduled for a trust audit will receive a modified trust audit in 2021. In the audit notification, the auditor will specify a list of items that the broker must send to the auditor electronically. Brokers, please provide only the items specified.
