COVID-19 & Commission Updates

Effective Wednesday, June 30th, Nova Scotia will enter phase 3 of the provincial government's reopening plan. Licensees and consumers must continue to follow all public health measures, including gathering limits.

Following COVID-19 safety measures, licensing exams at the Best Western hotel have resumed and Commission staff will return to the office on Monday, July 5th.

Public and licensee access to the Commission office will be by appointment only. Access will not be permitted for anyone who:

• Has travelled outside of Atlantic Canada and has not completed all of their mandatory requirements for isolating and/or testing.
• Is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive.
• Is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test for themselves or a close contact.
• Is otherwise supposed to be isolating.

The Commission is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 orders, directives and guidelines from the government. We will continue to communicate with the industry as information is made available.

Ministerial Directive Extended

The provincial government is extending the ministerial directive that requires landlords to gain residential tenants' consent for in-person showings until July 31st, 2021. 

The directive was introduced under the Emergency Management Act on May 21st, 2021. If you are working with seller clients of income properties, it is important for you to review this information.
