Commission Office Closure

The office will be closed for the holidays beginning Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at noon, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 9am.

Non time-sensitive inquiries can be directed to the appropriate staff member, who will respond when they resume work in the new year.

By-law Revisions Effective January 1, 2026

The Board of Directors has approved revisions to Parts 4 and 8 of the By-law, effective January 1, 2026.

By-law 407 - Administrative Fees and Penalties

By-law 407(a)(ii), which requires licensees to pay a $50 fee when changing their name, will be repealed. Licensees will continue to be required to notify the Commission and provide government-issued identification when a name change occurs; however, the $50 fee will no longer apply.

Part 8 Revisions

Part 8 revisions include, but are not limited to:

  • providing more clarity to the discipline process;
  • providing more clarity to the roles of the Complaints Review Committee and the Complaints Appeal Subcommittee;
  • adding new by-laws about the process when complaints are dismissed;
  • including “no contest” settlement agreements as part of a licensee’s public disciplinary history; and
  • including in disciplinary histories or notices, the name of the brokerage the licensee was licensed with at the time the conduct occurred.

Communicating Commission Office Closures Due to Weather

During the winter months, if the Commission office is closed due to severe weather or poor road conditions, notice of the closure will be posted on the Commission’s Facebook page. On these days, Commission staff will be working remotely and can be contacted by email or by leaving a voicemail. If you plan to visit the Commission office during periods of poor weather, please check the Facebook page in advance for the most up-to-date information.

Important Date Reminders

June 15, 2026: Mandatory CPE Deadline

All licensees are required to complete the 2025-2026 mandatory CPE course Professionalism Sells before 11:59 p.m. on June 15, 2026 or they will not be able to renew their licence and will not be eligible for renewal until the course is complete. The course is available now via the NSAR Learning Platform. To verify if you have completed your CPE, you can check the licensee portal.
