The Board of Directors has approved the following and will reassess the COVID-19 situation in two weeks’ time (April 1, 2020) to decide if further action is required.

Operations
- The Commission’s office is closing today, Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. until April 1, 2020.
- Staff will be working remotely.
- Any updates will be communicated to the industry by news bulletin, Facebook, and on the Commission’s website homepage.
Licensee Due Diligence
- Licensees are to educate themselves and their consumers about the current COVID-19 situation and its implications so they can make informed decisions.
- Licensees are to follow the directives of the provincial and federal government.
Governance
- The annual report is delayed and government has been notified.
All meetings, including the Board meeting and the Annual General Meeting are delayed until further notice. - To address this delay, the Board of Directors agreed to modify the current Bylaw 242 to include (see in bold):
“An annual meeting of industry members shall be held, within four (4) months of the end of the fiscal year, at a time and place to be fixed by the Commission. In urgent circumstances, as determined by the Board, the annual meeting and elections may be held outside of the time frame set in accordance with Bylaw 242.” - The nomination closing date for the 2020 election will not change (March 26). In lieu of handwritten signatures, electronic signatures or collecting emails of 10 supporters will suffice. The election is delayed until further notice.

- The licensing exam in April is cancelled.
- Licensing applications, completed in full and accompanied by all required supporting documents, must be scanned and emailed to Pam Crane, Licensing Officer, This email address is being protected from spambots. For applications requiring notary services, the requirement to have documents notarized will be delayed until office operations resume. Licence applicants will receive further instruction by email.
