Update to Board of Director Qualifications

Update to Board of Director Qualifications
Today, the Commission Board of Directors approved the following change, indicated in bold text, to the Qualifications for Board Membership Policy.

Any licensee who serves on the Commission Board of Directors must:
- Have a valid real estate licence;
- Not be an undischarged bankrupt;
- Not be convicted of any summary or indictable offence for which no pardon has been obtained;
- Not be convicted of an offence or offenses resulting in fines totaling more than $500 pursuant to the Act, the Bylaw, or the Regulations, within the past two years; and
- Not be a director, officer, board member, or employee of another real estate organization whose role is to defend the interests of the industry

Previously, the qualifications stated that licensees were to have no disciplinary infractions within the past two years.

The deadline for qualified licensees to put their names forward for the upcoming Board of Directors election is 4:00 p.m. March 23rd, 2016.
